Last Thursday when all the snow fell down so quickly in Bodmin I had an emergency stay at the Westbury Hotel. The manager Luis was fantastic ! So welcoming despite the numerous phone calls from people looking for a room for the night. The Chef hadn't managed to get to work so we were only able to order starters cooked by Emerson and served by Tina from the restaurant but they were delicious! The staff were all amazing as they were so busy trying to fit people in .My bedroom was exceptionally clean.I have booked the function room for a staff gathering on the 28th February so it will be a pleasure to return.Dr Maureen Newman
Quite a shabby place, i went there for a meeting but i wont stay there overnight. The food was basic, car parking a nightmare and you can see into the toilet cubicle!
Lovely room, lovely food (we had breakfast). Very friendly and attentive staff. On-site parking was adequate. A great experience.
Last night I attended my works Christmas party. The soup came out cold which they already knew as they asked me if it was cold and gave me a free drink. Then the main came out! The beef was so chewy and tough I couldn't eat it, the Yorkshire puddings were burnt so inedible the only thing I could say was ok were the roast potatoes. Then came the pudding the most awful chewy apple tart I had ever tasted so again inedible!! My wife had chocolate cake with a sauce which resembled curry sauce, which quite a few of us tasted and just didn't belong on the plate with chocolate cake! The entertainment left alot to be desired. He should of just played the disco not sing his karaoke as he was the only person singing. However the staff were very pleasant. I will not be recommending this to anyone.
A fairly basic hotel.. But at least clean..Could do with some upkeep.. Repair on blinds..light switch..room was chilly but lady gave us a heater. Not much choice at breakfast and again basic ingredients..ok for one night.
